Synopsis
The objective of the project was to revive the traditional toy-making craft of Channapatna and bring it to a level where it can compete with European brands. It also aims to improve the standard of living of the artisans by helping them bring about innovation in their craft. The design interventions explored for the craft were to be in the area of technicalities like asymmetrical lathe, tapering holes and new colours.
The packaging was developed to match the standard of the design of the product. The material used for the packaging was environment-friendly, child-friendly and innovative at the same time. It was so designed that it could become part of the toy/game itself.
