Synopsis
In today’s hyper competitive and global energy environment, oil and gas refineries are turning to new technologies such as cloud computing, big data and enterprise mobility as the next catalysts for growth and profitability.
The focus of the project was on augmenting occupational safety when dealing with hazardous chemicals. This necessitated creating concepts around the areas of next generation ubiquitous sensors; mobile apps that enhance personal safety; and the visualisation of information and alarms to reduce the cognitive load of the field operators by providing them with relevant information based on which they can make effective decisions.
