Synopsis
To make a commercially viable and innovative Spring-Summer collection of silk scarves for women in digital print, for the European market was the main objective of this project.
Drawing inspiration from the characteristic stone lattice work of Indo-Islamic architecture, three ranges of explorations were experimented upon by playing with each element of the lattice – geometric, floral and textural, in order to create a new visual hierarchy. The geometric theme showcased patterns placed on grids, symmetry and explored various tessellations. The floral theme consisted of bold patterns of leaves and flowers while the textural elements emphasised on the play of light and the illusory translucency of the lattice.
