Synopsis
The project aim was to create a range of contemporary furniture inspired by Indian arts and crafts for a target audience with an appreciate eye for such design.
The resulting range reflects a duality and contrast in the two chosen craft styles: Warli painting represented through its warm and ethnic brown hues, and Blue pottery represented through its cool and calm blue. The art of Warli, instead of being painted, was applied in the form of inlay work along with Blue pottery tiles. Made in teak, each piece was carefully designed to reflect duality in form, colour and function.
