Synopsis
Often caught between the devil and the deep sea and constantly vulnerable to forces of fixed national, historical and cultural categories, life is a constant struggle for refugees against hegemonic control structures.
The Afghan refugees in India are faced with a constant identity crisis through a transition process of the creation and recreation of ideologies against a backdrop of conflicting loyalties. On one hand, in the face of basic survival, they try to find home in the adopted country. Yet, they constantly try and cling on to the familiarities and traditions of a place they once called home. These images are an attempt to convey their issues, struggles, hopes and aspirations in the vein of a docudrama.
