Synopsis
The brief called for extending the existing range of modular handmade tiles in the form of murals for emoting moods in both interior and exterior spaces. The aim was to provide a platform for the users to choose the tiles themselves, and mix and match them to create their own customised murals thereby lending a unique personal touch to their individual spaces. This was achieved by first-hand interaction with the targeted audience.
Patterns for the tiles were inspired from local Indian flora: the peepal leaf and the hibiscus flower. Experiments and explorations were made with existing glazes within the parameters of aesthetics and material sensibilities whilst adhering to the brand identity of the company.
