Synopsis
The project called for creating a fresh design intervention for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2013 collection by incorporating technical and style innovations in the field of digital printing on textiles.
The end deliverables consisted of three ranges of digitally printed women’s apparel in the Indian ethnic wear segment: a collection of yardages and its coordinates; a range of digitally printed and vibrantly coloured dupattas; and lastly, a collection of stitched garments with matching coordinates.
Design explorations in terms of standard silhouettes, elegant textures, bright and bold colour palettes based on trend forecasts and domestic market research were carried out. Hand-painted motifs inspired by Japanese calligraphy, traditional Indian motifs, geometric patterns of linear landscapes, brush strokes earmarked the entire collection.
