Synopsis
The project presented an opportunity to work with opal glass and design a new range of commercially viable tea and coffee cups, saucers and mugs. Additionally, the existing range of the same was redesigned in terms of
aesthetics, ergonomics, surface ornamentation and standardised volumes. A range of drinking glasses and decorative vases in crystal was also developed.
Opal glass being the hardest of its kind presented many limitations to work with. Hence understanding its production process and analysing and strategising the methodology of work were crucial for design intervention and conceptualisation of ideas.
