Synopsis
This project was an endeavour to raise awareness about the tremendous gap that exists between demand and supply of donated organs in our country. Every year nearly 500,000 people die because of non-availability of organs.
The pigs’ organs represented in the images are used as visual metaphors since they are anatomically similar to human organs. Using an image of sprouting seeds placed on a decomposing organ in each frame represents a sense of life and hope to convey the idea of life that can be gifted after death. The macabre images of the rotting organs were deliberately used to depict a sense of wastage and ignorance and to provoke and encourage the audience to consider contributing to the noble cause of organ donation.
