Synopsis
The objective of this project was to produce a comic book based on the life of the renowned Indian polymath Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose and short animated ads for promoting the book which was to be designed keeping in mind its future potential as a textbook for school children.
Bose made a number of pioneering discoveries in plant physiology, in particular, measuring plant response to various stimuli thereby scientifically proving that ‘plants can feel too’. The story in the book starts with an allusion to Bose’s inspiration for his work: one fine morning, a nine-year old Jagadish discovers that the Mimosa plant (aka the touch-me-not plant) in his room can talk. Gradually, the plant becomes a trusted companion on his journey of discovery.
