Synopsis
Photographic documentation of human migrations of yore has often portrayed the proverbial glass as half empty. However today, the term ‘migrant’ has taken on an entirely new meaning and endeavours are being made at the global level to improve public perception of migration.
This project takes a peek into the ‘sunny side’ of the lives of those who have migrated from north-east states of India to different parts of India, in particular New Delhi. After exploring various modus operandi, it was decided to make environmental portraits wherein the wider frames captured the background elements of the migrants’ workplace and home environments for impact.
