Synopsis

A child-participatory endeavour, this project focused on investigating how photography, as a means of visual communication, can facilitate children to learn how to ‘read an image’ and how these images can successively
communicate and effect change in their society.

The first phase of the project was to create awareness in children about the places in Bihar bearing historic and cultural significance by designing a handbook featuring photographs of the same – all clicked and selected by the children themselves. The second phase revolved around the designing of a calendar and a digital photo library of all existing images of various activities
organised by the institution.
