Synopsis
What initially started as a basic facelift for the public transport bus seating grew into a significant redesign of the aesthetic, ergonomic and structural aspects of the seat elements like the pole handles; arm, head, and backrests. Special attention was given to factors which could combat centrifugal forces and limit jerk impact. In this manner, a practical leap was taken into the future of public transport using direct and pragmatic design sensibilities.
The final prototype was a dynamic and lightweight seating solution for the imminent decade of modern mobility as opposed to the archaic bulkier one. Some of its redesigned features include modularity, higher recyclability; and easier production and assembly.
