Synopsis
This project offered an opportunity to create a range of luxury dining furniture inspired by the philosophies of Art Nouveau, a style of art first made popular in the early 1900s.
Keeping in mind the Indian context, this range was inspired from the national tree of India – the banyan tree. The base of the six-seater dining table was beautifully designed to mimic the intricate network of the ariel roots of the tree. The whiplash curve was incorporated to achieve recognisability as Art Nouveau pieces. The final range consisted of a glass top dining table, matching ergonomic chairs and a stone-top sideboard, all made in teak.
