Synopsis
The project objective was to design the seats for a high-end luxury bus. The design process began with the gathering of standard dimensional data from both the study of human posture according to the Indian Anthropometric Standards, and the study of circular space for seat placement and gangways according to the Indian Vehicle Standards.
Much emphasis was laid on designing the storage area on the rear of the seat backrest for travel utility items; grab handles for the elderly; LCD screen pockets and a dustbin. The seat was designed to look like a single, solid piece. This was done with an aim to reflect its stability and strength.
