The term ‘minimalist’ often refers to anything that is stripped to its essentials. At Raw Mango they have adapted and modified traditional designs to make them simple, sophisticated and distinctly contemporary, thereby creating a fresh new aesthetic that is both indigenous and modern. By studying traditional weaves such as Chanderi, Varanasi and West Bengal works, two collections were developed. The objective of the first line was to develop a collection of women’s wear for Sanjay Garg’s Signature line for spring/ summer 2014. In addition to this, the second project was about developing a collection of blouses for saris.
