The project aim was to develop a range of post and pre maternity wear along the themes of ethnic, comfortable and affordable in sync with the trend forecast of A/W ’16. The final two collections had 4 sub themes. The Ethnic collection comprised of kurtas with prints inspired by ikkat, gadwal fabric of Maharashtra and Mughal floral motifs. The Floral indo-western collection boasted floral motifs inspired by bandhani from Gujarat, retro prints, to name a few. Thorough study and exploration were carried out on the functionality of the samples; concealed zippers for opening of the garments for ease of nursing and elastics and buttons for post pregnancy fitting were incorporated.
