The plot of the film is loosely inspired by a short story written by Mohan Rakesh called “Paanchve Maale Ka Flat” or “The Flat on the Fifth Floor”. The story was adapted to fit in today’s milieu. The film shows Avinash, an architect, trying to fight a losing battle of maintaining his sense of ethics in a world which simply doesn’t care. This film is set in the city of Kolkata. The city reflects the mind of the protagonist who wonders whether he did the right thing by sticking to his own definition of “success” and “progress”, rather than looking at it as the world does, at large.
