HeyMath has been associated with a large number of schools over the last 12 years, since its establishment. It is now connected to over 2000 teachers with whom it interacts on a regular basis. It is from this relationship that the vision of “Teaching Tomorrow: A Networking Platform for Teachers” arose. It was a platform where all these teachers could come together and discuss latest pedagogy, share resources, get inspired, and take part in teacher sabbatical programmes conducted by HeyMath.

Since HeyMath has been involved in the education for so many years, it has accumulated various resources such as case studies, interviews by pioneers in the field of academics, various teaching practices, question banks from various curricula, and much more. All these resources were stored in a database with no proper platform to share. This brought about the second reason to build one such network for the teachers.

The project was carried out in two phases. In the first phase, a mock-up site was set up with all features derived from research analysis. There were about 50 teachers active on this site. After monitoring the usage of the various features on the site, the design was revisited. For the second phase, a discussion forum was designed where teachers could share knowledge, discuss pedagogies, and also connect with HeyMath more efficiently.

HeyMath, in turn, intended to use the platform to keep their customers updated about their latest products and also involve them in the development process. The design of the forum revolved around minimising information overload with a simplistic tile approach.
