What if learning, storytelling, and motor skill development could be more dynamic and engaging? Grippy is a multipurpose wearable toy set and an innovative play system designed for independent play, classrooms, and group activities. It offers a flexible, device-free experience that encourages joy, creativity, and cognitive growth. Unlike traditional toys with fixed outcomes, Grippy fosters open-ended exploration, adapting to different play styles. Tested with over 400+ children and 50+ adults in multiple collaborations, the project originated from a classroom design challenge exploring the idea of “wearing play.” Beyond its experimental roots, Grippy examines the intersection of play with practicality, functionality, and market potential. By integrating movement, sensory engagement, and interactive storytelling, this project redefines play beyond conventional toys. Clothing serves many roles in our lives—what if play could seamlessly integrate into what we wear, blending function, aesthetics, and learning in a completely new way.
