This graduation project with Claywiz, an emerging tableware brand in Naroda, Ahmedabad, focused on creating a unique collection blending nature with modern design. Inspired by the "Lotus in its Ecosystem," the collection celebrates the organic beauty of the lotus, from its veined leaves to the irregularity of its seed pods. Two key product lines were developed: a dinnerware set reflecting the intricate patterns of the lotus and a one-portion range embracing nature's imperfections. Through extensive research and glaze experimentation, earthy tones and botanical hues were used to mimic the lotus’s natural beauty. The project explored both traditional and contemporary techniques, collaborating with artisans and overcoming production challenges to create a handcrafted, refined collection. The outcome is a functional and artistic tableware range that balances local Indian traditions with global design sensibilities, aimed at appealing to both domestic and international markets.
