Work wear for Rapido bike-taxi drivers
User-Centered DesignFunctional ApparelWorkwear DesignCost-Effective SolutionsSustainable Fashion
This graduation project focused on designing functional everyday clothing for Rapido's bike-taxi drivers, addressing the physical and psychological challenges they face while working. The project involved primary and secondary research to understand the drivers' pain points and develop practical solutions. The design process explored a range of materials and surface design options, ensuring the garments were functional, cost-effective, and easy to use daily. By brainstorming and critically evaluating ideas, the most suitable design was chosen to meet the drivers' needs. This project provided an opportunity to explore material interactions and develop affordable apparel solutions for an economically weaker user group, without compromising on functionality or aesthetics. It also enhanced the student’s understanding of user-centered design, with a focus on providing practical and sustainable solutions for a specific, real-world issue.
