This project aims to develop an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system tailored for dental practices. Initially designed for general physicians, Bajaj's EMR gained popularity among dentists due to its comprehensive features. Through research, including competitive analysis and interviews with dental practitioners, key insights were gathered on existing EMR functionalities, user pain points, and workflow challenges. Issues like burdensome documentation, inadequate workflow integration, and difficulties transitioning from paper-based records were identified. Using a user-centered design approach, the project created personas, journey maps, and user flow diagrams. Affinity mapping organized insights into categories such as functionality, security, scalability, and user experience. The refined system integrates AI-driven treatment suggestions, ambient clinical intelligence, voice-based interactions, and robust data security to streamline workflows and enhance user satisfaction. The final design emphasizes ease of use, customization, and seamless integration with existing tools, with future plans for telehealth, mobile compatibility, and support for various dental specialties.
