Sponsored by the Railway Design Centre, Ahmedabad, this project conceptualizes and designs a souvenir collection for the National Railway Museum (NRM) and 34 rail museums across India. Aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and promoting rail tourism, the project merges archival and contemporary photography to narrate the rich legacy of Indian Railways.
Archival photographs sourced from NRM and PRO offices in Chennai and Mumbai capture historic railway architecture and engineering feats, while contemporary images from Delhi, Darjeeling, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai provide a modern perspective. These visuals are curated into a collectible photo book, offering an engaging and educational keepsake.
Additional souvenirs, including postcards, cut-outs, and Cubi Tazos, were developed using sublimation printing and decal transfers, ensuring accessibility and appeal. This project aligns with museum merchandising, heritage branding, and experiential tourism, contributing to the cultural preservation and commercial engagement of railway heritage.
