India's rapidly growing population has surpassed 1.42 billion, with a significant rise in the aging population, projected to reach 347 million by 2050. This demographic shift will place immense pressure on urban public transport, requiring adaptation to meet future demands. As the number of elderly passengers increases, accessibility and safety become crucial concerns. Many seniors face challenges using public transportation due to declining physiological functions, making travel stressful and increasing accident risks. This project aims to explore how urban transport systems can evolve to enhance accessibility, ensuring elderly individuals feel confident and secure while traveling. By addressing these challenges, the study seeks to encourage active aging and improve mobility solutions for India's future.
