*Coast to Cup: A Ceramic Journey* is a project developed under Nicobar Design Studio for their Autumn/Winter 2023 and Spring/Summer 2024 collections, featuring stoneware sets and decals. Drawing inspiration from the islands of the Indian Ocean, the project highlights the region’s rich natural beauty and unique cultural heritage, creating a sense of nostalgia and connection to Indian traditions. The collection blends modern Indian sensibilities with a global appeal, presenting Indian culture in a fresh, contemporary way. Each piece of ceramic tableware is inspired by the native flora and fauna of these islands, with hand-painted designs that are carefully translated onto the ceramics. The result is a collection that brings island life into everyday moments, offering a tactile and visual connection to the essence of coastal living, while celebrating both the diversity and unity of Indian heritage in a globally relevant context.
