An Intensive Care Unit (ICU), also known as an Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU), is a specialised hospital department providing critical care for patients with severe or life-threatening conditions. These units require constant monitoring, life-support equipment, and specialised medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists. ICUs have a higher staff-to-patient ratio and access to advanced medical resources unavailable in general wards. Common conditions treated include acute respiratory distress syndrome and septic shock. ICU charts are essential tools for tracking vital signs, medications, and patient progress, enabling real-time monitoring and informed decision-making. At Narayana Health, ICU charts are currently paper-based, leading to inefficiencies and potential risks in patient care. This project aims to digitize ICU charts, enhancing usability, adaptability, and efficiency in critical care management. By integrating user-friendly digital solutions, the project seeks to improve data accuracy, streamline workflows, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes in intensive care settings.
