Culture Rupture is a self-initiated project that started as part of my 7th Semester Design Project in November 2022, aligned with UN SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities. This project expanded with funding from the Ford Foundation into a youth art and design workshop program in Bangalore. The initiative involved mapping stakeholders, collaborating with NGOs like Project Defy and Makkala Jagriti, and creating a customized workshop plan. Between June 2023 and February 2024, I facilitated 50 workshops, where youth explored their daily lives and re-imagined cultural identities through placemaking activities. The program culminated in a 3-day exhibition at Bangalore Creative Circus, showcasing the participants' work. Each workshop acted as an iterative prototype, shaping the structure of Culture Rupture. I also developed a toolkit based on insights from the workshops, which will provide a flexible framework for future facilitators, expanding the project’s reach and impact over time.
