This animated documentary explores the Proust Effect, where everyday objects, like fruits, unlock memories and emotions through the senses, particularly taste. The film imagines fruits gossiping and discussing their significance, as they travel down a nostalgic aisle, reflecting on their emotional connections to those who consume them. Inspired by Wendy Cope’s poem "The Orange", the project was sparked by the filmmaker’s own childhood memories of an aunt who used to feed her oranges during summer vacations, calling her “Santre-ki-foli.” These fleeting moments, tied to taste, became an emotional anchor after her aunt's untimely passing. Through this exploration, the film delves into how fruits can evoke personal histories, while encouraging the audience to reflect on their own sensory memories. Beyond a visual and auditory experience, the film seeks to make the viewer feel like they’re tasting the narrative, celebrating the preciousness of the mundane and the deep emotional resonance it holds.
