This project is an installation that highlights the harsh realities of India’s caste system, focusing on its impact on access to water, a basic human need. It is the result of seven months of research and personal reflection, uncovering how caste influences daily life. The process was emotionally challenging, revealing deep social inequalities through difficult conversations and firsthand experiences. Growing up, it was observed how caste dictates interactions—like a household maid never being allowed to enter the home. As a design student, this project aimed to balance accessibility and depth, using visual storytelling to spark meaningful discussions. While the installation may not create immediate change, it encourages reflection and dialogue, which are essential for social awareness.
