"Stories from the Dark Room" was a distinctive exhibition project created as part of the graduation requirements at the National Institute of Design (NID), in collaboration with the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP). This initiative focused on showcasing the rich Southeast Asian temple heritage through the IFP's photo archive, celebrating over fifty years of research and documentation. The exhibition used photographs captured through photo negatives to reveal the intricate stories, cultural insights, and historical significance of these temples. By blending NID's artistic approach with IFP's scholarly research, the exhibition offered a multi-dimensional exploration of sacred architecture and its cultural narratives. Through creative scenography and engaging visuals, the project aimed to connect the past and present, inviting visitors to reflect on the legacy of these sacred spaces. Stories from the Dark Room effectively bridged academic study with artistic design, creating a compelling narrative of heritage through photography.
