This project focuses on designing and setting up a darkroom space for the Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation, dedicated to alternative and analog photography. Using historical photographic processes, the project develops a thematic exploration of personal and temporal connections to landscapes.
Through memory, solitude, and the fear of loss, the artist retrospectively examines their relationship with land, investigating how subjective experiences shape spatial and temporal dimensions. The project captures abandoned and timeless landscapes, employing historic printing techniques that enhance the visual and emotional depth of images beyond conventional landscape photography.
By experimenting with diverse materials and alternative photographic methods, this work contributes to contemporary photography, visual arts, and darkroom-based image-making. It is relevant to fine arts, archival photography, printmaking, and visual storytelling, bridging the gap between traditional photographic heritage and modern artistic interpretation.
