In collaboration with the Tata Steel Foundation, this project aimed to revitalize traditional Sohrai & Khovar art forms by directly engaging with local artisans. Focused on preserving cultural heritage, the project offered workshops to enhance artisans' skills in these painting techniques and introduced them to natural dyeing using locally sourced materials. The workshops encouraged creativity and experimentation, instilling a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of these crafts. A key outcome was the development of an exclusive apparel collection, blending Sohrai & Khovar motifs with contemporary fashion trends. Artisans were involved in every stage of the collection, ensuring authenticity and quality while promoting sustainable practices. The use of natural dyes not only preserved traditional techniques but also contributed to environmental conservation. By empowering artisans economically and preserving their cultural legacy, the project ensured the continued relevance of Sohrai & Khovar art for future generations.
