This project focuses on developing playful interventions to support speech development in children from birth to age three, particularly for children of working parents who may face delays in reaching speech milestones. Recognizing the crucial role speech plays in a child’s overall development, the intervention was designed to enhance language exposure in an engaging, playful manner. Collaborating with the All India Speech and Hearing Institute (AIISH), Mysore, scientific validation was sought for the product’s effectiveness. The intervention consists of a combination of play equipment and story/rhyme books, with illustrations based on essential words children should be exposed to at different stages of development. A validated word bank, created by Dr. Priya, a speech and language pathologist at AIISH, ensured the language content was accurate and developmentally appropriate. The product was tested with five sets of toys and books, providing an interactive and educational experience for young children to stimulate speech development.
