As the driverless era approaches, fully autonomous vehicle networks will become the norm, making traditional cars obsolete. This shift raises concerns about the loss of control and freedom, fundamental human desires. To counter this, the project adopts Intelligence Augmentation (IA) over Artificial Intelligence (AI), ensuring human decision-making remains central. Through speculative design, the project envisions the transportation ecosystem of 2040, balancing automation with human agency. It explores carbon footprint reduction through clean energy and optimized vehicle usage while predicting a shift toward shared mobility solutions over personal ownership. The future driving experience will be adaptive and hyper-personalized, catering to diverse commuting needs. By focusing on inclusivity and sustainability, the project ensures that technological advancements enhance, rather than diminish, human autonomy. Ultimately, it reimagines mobility as an efficient and user-centric experience, bridging the gap between automation and personal freedom.
