The main aim of this project is to build upon the prototype of Mr. Hook and make it a fully playable experience. The proposed game is a first-person action platformer game called ‘Mr. Hook’ where the concept of a multi-purpose Core Mechanic is explored. The game uses a structure of 3D Action Platformer games to keep the players engaged and provides an experimental environment to play with. The game is also an attempt at exploring different approaches to make a first-person perspective game function as a platformer. The design strategy to tackle this was grounded in the case studies on similar genre games, playtests, and player feedback. The development process aims to revise the design principles of the Prototype and flesh them out to accommodate the elements of Narrative, Sound Design, and Art Direction. This game is developed for the PC platform and uses mouse and keyboard inputs for all the interactions, as this input system is the most optimal way to play it.
