This thesis project's intent was to propose a vehicle that is capable of operating and leading rescue missions in remote and inaccessible locations. The project specifically caters to the needs of the rural and lower Himalayan regions of Nepal and India. Areas situated between the upper hills and the Himalayan belt are subjected to various disasters like avalanches, landslides, road blockages, aircraft crashes, and accidents, which put the lives of many in danger. With lives at stake, critical situations require a quick reaction time to respond to these circumstances in order to save and rescue. Also, during these disastrous times, the weather in these areas is not favorable to facilitate air rescue missions. Thus comes a problem where a rescue team cannot reach the area of the disaster.
In situations like such, an extreme off-road capable vehicle might have some possibility of reaching ground zero. With the intention of saving lives, this project was studied, and a vehicle meeting the requirements was conceptualized for the search and rescue team as an independent alternative to air rescue.
