This Document serves as a comprehensive record of a project conducted at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. Entitled "Madhuvana: Storage System," this project presents a series of furniture pieces that reimagine traditional and vernacular design elements through a contemporary perspective. The collaboration for this project took shape alongside AVA Lifestyles & Services Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, under the able mentorship of Swati Chitkara and the guidance of Ms. Neha Mandlik. The core objective of this undertaking was to bridge the divide between tradition and the present, infusing rich cultural heritage into functional pieces that seamlessly align with the aesthetics and lifestyles of today. The project endeavors to harmoniously blend nostalgia and innovation, crafting furniture designs that pay heartfelt homage to our roots while effortlessly integrating into the contemporary narrative. The journey commenced with Phase 1, involving a meticulous study of Gurugram, encompassing its inhabitants, demographics, and lifestyles. An in-depth analysis of the market and scrutiny of brand competitors were performed to gain insights into brand positioning. Transitioning into Phase 2, primary research was conducted on the brand, including an exploration of its existing products and design typology. Key USPs of the brand were meticulously examined to comprehend its core ideology. The project then delved into Phase 2, where contemporary design trends were extensively researched. Insights were gleaned from sources such as Architectural Digest to understand the psychology underpinning current and future design trends. Case studies scrutinized the influence of post-COVID-19 fatigue on people's design preferences, while podcasts explored the metaphorical meanings associated with furniture. This phase culminated in the refinement of keywords and search parameters for the subsequent research phases. Phase 3 delved deeply into the exploration of traditional and vernacular Indian forms and archetypes. The research journey explored traditional architecture, furniture, living spaces, and family heritage,
