This project is a captivating voyage through the realm of saree craftsmanship, where the blend of tradition and modernity comes to life. The first collection, Orivastra, showcases heat-pressed sarees adorned with enchanting origami-inspired folds and textures. With each fold thoughtfully fashioned, the fabric transforms into a symphony of structured elegance. This fusion artfully bridges the gap between the meticulous art of origami and the flowing grace of sarees, seamlessly merging the traditional saree with the classic art of origami.
The second collection is inspired from the allure of fractals. This collection harmoniously weaves together three distinct techniques: intricate embroidery, Banarasi weaving, and dazzling foil print. The culmination emerges as Mélange, transcending mere attire. This interplay of techniques pays homage to the intricate beauty of fractals, gracing sarees with patterns that mirror the complexity of the natural world.
Both collections serve as chronicles of creative inspiration and innovation, where folds and fractals redefine the essence of saree allure. These creations are more than mere garments; they embody living canvases that honour tradition while embracing the limitless scope of artistic expression. The convergence of folds and fractals encapsulates the essence of evolution within the realm of saree design, encapsulating a timeless narrative of artistry and ingenuity. Both draw their inspiration from geometry, with one collection bringing to life the tangible, 3D facets of geometric forms, while the other adopts a 2D approach by showcasing geometry through shapes and organic textures.
