'Shaped in clay' is a documentary film which captures the emotion, aesthetics and culture associated with Claystation Art Studios Pvt Ltd. based out of Bangalore. Opened in 2008 by Ganesh Manickavasagam and Kanchanadevi Chandrasekaran, it caters to experienced, aspiring and recreational potters. Over the years, it has evolved into a community for potters and clay artists as a one-stop shop for equipment and supplies used by studio potters and an education and therapy centre. Well-known nationally and internationally, Claystation has already garnered a lot of coverage and is THE community for potters and artisans in India. Their extraordinary growth as an education institute and premium manufacturer of raw materials for potters, has always been the focal point of these coverages. Hence this documentary primarily focuses on the human aspect, how it has grown into a cultural hub for artisans and the emotional aspect of working with such a tactile material.
