Alsorg Interiors Pvt. Ltd. Gurugram, sponsored this Graduation Project for six months. Alsorg has a famous name in the luxury interior market and they have a well-established manufacturing unit in Gurugram. As they wanted to launch a new brand Wriver India, and thus, led an opportunity for me to design a new CMF derivation for their upcoming design collections. My brief included designing and developing an innovative CMF Library for its luxury interiors and furniture. The project revolves around proposing Trends/design direction, CMF library, and Material explorations concepts.
The project was initiated with an understanding of the brand's identity, philosophy, and ideologies. Then understand the term “Luxury” by researching the significance and societal aspects of Luxury in both international and national contexts. The research involved a deeper study of luxury consumers, the market, current trends, materials, and design requirements through primary and secondary research methodologies. The research synthesis led to three design collections with concept boards, persona mapping and set a design language for each collection. Further, all three collections led to material explorations. There were 100-plus final samples considered as CMF library for the new brand Wriver which will be implemented on different products later. After the creation of the CMF Library, the final stage was to implement it into the products and for the time being, was only able to design the products for the first collection to see the visualization and implementation of CMF. As a Lifestyle Accessory Designer, designed a range of small accessories and a partition screen for the first collection.
It was a great learning experience as I got direct industrial exposure, which extended my design thinking possibilities and the whole experience helped me to broaden my horizon in terms of CMF.
