Currently, there are feature wars going in the smartwatch industry with features such as heart rate, waterproofing, sleep monitor becoming the must-have features in entry level segments. Eventually, the next stage of the industry will be commoditization, unless players continue to add more features and experience. The project aims at understanding the potential of smartwatches beyond the domain of fitness which Titan focuses on. The goal of the project was to identify and come up with strategic directions for Titan’s smartwatches. Key values and value tensions were identified and scenarios were developed to highlight new areas of focus. The results were distilled into a set of design considerations.
