Today, customers use multiple third-party solutions to migrate data from legacy file systems to Nutanix. It's a need to assist the customers with user-friendly tools to analyze, plan, and migrate these legacy systems. As part of the migration process, customers would also want to explore and discover the data on the file systems and distribute the data accordingly to Files and cloud solutions based on various parameters.
Today, Nutanix offers several storage solutions: Nutanix Files, Volumes, and objects. Each solution works on a different underlying technology of files, blocks, and objects. As a part of the Unified storage services proposal, the project addresses this fragmented experience of access and management across storage and provides a single pane of glass to enhance the offerings.
