It is equipped with UV-C Technology to ensure the freshness of food inside the refrigerator. The Pedestal is designed for social gatherings and party environments and provides better accessibility to food at every corner of the refrigerator.
We have broken the traditional barrier of space management for single-door refrigerators by rethinking pedestal height. It not only serves the purpose of better accessibility but also enhances the perceived value of the refrigerator by bettering its quality and aesthetics, for which users are willing to pay more. It has been observed that nearly 40% of users switch to purchasing a double-door refrigerator over a single-door because of less price difference and a strong desire for new features. But in the long run, this desire costs 60 % more carbon footprint. With Whirlpool X1, we are promoting the use of a single-door refrigerator by empowering its look, accessibility, and unique features inspired by the Gen-Z lifestyle. With X1, we are not only saving carbon footprint, but are also saving around 45,000 INR for users in the long run.
As per the Gen-Z traits and aspirations, this Project has good scope to hit an upcoming consumer durables market. Some parts like door shelves have the scope to be refreshed further to adapt to the changing needs of the users. New technologies like conductive fabric, UV-C sanitizing, and Halo RGB lights will be implemented in the coming future to create desire. The project has come to an end with high fidelity renders, animation, and production-ready CAD data, valid for engineers for ribbing and design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
