The project is about the communities that live around the Godavari River in the city of Nashik. The project observed more profound impacts on the community, and the fascinating perspective of the people toward the river, even after they suffered devastation from the river flood. Their opinions are influenced by their rooted belief in religion and its association with the river.

Since childhood, Dheeraj has seen floods occurring in the Godavari river as he stood at the Victoria bridge looking at the river. Since he started learning about the impacts of flooding in the Panchavati region. Dheeraj found out that the calamity occurred every year, and it seemed inevitable. And how it has been deteriorating the city’s heritage and people’s lives over the years. During his research, he learned about the history of architectural legacy, the markets and community, the experiences of people during floods, and the causes behind this flood situation.

The project intends to be a revelation of the community and its relationship with space and rivers affected by constant flood situations. Intending to present the stories and opinions of the community and document their interaction with architectural heritage and the river through a photobook.
