The first step, of course, during his initial days with Whirlpool, was to try to analyse the team and understand how a design setup functions, the quality of product range produced, their sense of aesthetics and to experience the existing resources to introduce himself to this new environment. Being presented with such a setting will inevitably make one realize that the job of a product designer is not simply restricted to just making products but is also to be able to interpret those designs, make sure the product designed is feasible and ensure that the resources and labour are cautiously and efficiently utilized. As a result, he had hoped to develop a holistic experience successfully over the following 6 months. The initial project brief assigned to him was to explore himself, his habits and interests in the field of home and kitchen appliances. He believes that everything has micro and macro aspects to it. The micro reflection to the aforementioned macro environment is the home & the mind in his project.
The project entailed identifying - making connections to create a relevant story of the mind and the home - the kitchen to be specific. This document attempts to narrate his very circumstantial journey full of experimentation, explorations, failures and successes, ups and downs, and most importantly, learnings in an uncertain scenario, which has led to his personal and professional growth and understanding.
