This project is done with Alaric, which is a Pune, India based design studio specializing in furniture and industrial design.
After the pandemic we observed that the global gaming market is seeing its biggest boom with video games starting to dominate recreation time across all demographics and is estimated to grow to more than $200 billion by 2024. Irrespective of age, gender or income, people are now spending multiple hours sitting at home playing games. While the need of billions of gamers around the globe are very diverse, the industry faces a Big Gap in the Gaming Furniture Sector. Gamer specific furniture that caters to aesthetics, space, and productivity are still majorly missing from the market. The existing available furniture we observed in our research are often office furniture designs repurposed and marketed under the gaming segment. Hence, we decided to create a smart gaming furniture that will cater both gamers and office working audiences.
After a couple of discussions we decide to develop something i.e, compact/space-saving, which provides the best experience to the user. The Smart table constitutes all the aspects of gamers' aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, lighting, and other important requirements. Hence, I started working towards developing two types of furniture which are, one wire one for laptop gamers, and one wire two for pc gamers.
there were a lot of technical bumps to make our ideas work, we also got in touch with some of the engineers in this segment to check the possibilities and reduce the chances of failures to create the best possible smart gaming furniture.
