The graduation project was done with Synergy Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. which is based out of Mumbai. The project being kick started in the time of the pandemic, it had to undergo a lot of changes. It started as an expedition to explore and understand an export house’s functioning with an aim to create suitable products for the buyers and to carve a positive place for the company in people’s hearts around the world.
The ever flowing processes and never stopping hustle of the industry gives this project its name, ‘Perennial’. As the project started, it became more than just understanding and making. It was constant exploration and adjusting with a wide range of ways to work towards progress in such testing times. Researching and trying different techniques with various materials led to many new creations and adjustments. As a result, the student made two collections out of her interpretation of the concept ‘Modern Primitivism’, one being kitchen linen and the other being table linen collection. The inspiration, mood and colour stories were created out of various concept and trend studies. These collections were made as new developments for the existing and potential clientele.
From understanding the company and its buyers to developing consolidated designs for them, the journey was an enriching experience for the student. Despite being tough and long, it was filled with lots of realisation and creations for her. Along with all the industrial learnings, the student tried to draw ways to minimize labour, expenses and waste from the process and experience.
