As humans, we have always been visual creatures, capturing the world through our eyes. Before we encounter the physical nature of something, we inspect it through our eyes. Human eyes are one of the most delicate and precious gifts to mankind, through which we inspect the world as it is.
Before the advent of any form of writing or expression, mankind was thrilled by its surroundings and wanted to communicate their ideas, thoughts through the same. By the ability to learn and change, humans have evolved into the beings of tomorrow. Throughout history, we have witnessed the narratives through realistic visual imagery, a long-lasting form of communication and expression.
Realistic things have always been intriguing for humans. In their run to capture reality as it is, various tools have been developed to capture reality as it is perceived by us. With the onset of various platforms as canvases, from rocks to screens, the challenge and expectation to achieve realism have risen.
No doubt that these tools have helped the current state of visual creation, but with the pace of technology, there has been a divide into the practitioners: those who adapt and those who adopt. With the new 3D graphics software in place, there has been a shift in the trends of visual design, creating more hyperrealistic graphics, which creates a challenge for the current 2D designers to compete.
The project thus aims to bridge the gap and ease the creation of realistic visuals and graphics. The project also aims to push boundaries off two-dimensional space and help creators achieve realistic imagery without a steep learning curve. In doing so, it envisions new interface options in Adobe Illustrator that will help creators apply the concepts of photorealism to their art with the help of the proposed features.
