The project entails the need to provide real-time translation of human senses and skills in any remote location to overcome barriers of distance, time, and limited abilities. The design task is to integrate multiple emerging technologies to develop a physical, non-autonomous AVATAR system with which an operator can see, hear, and interact with a remote environment in real-time.
This project is sponsored by HoloSuit, KaayaTech - Aim of the project is to participate and compete in the XPRIZE Avatar challenge to gain robotics experience and implement and test an indigenous robotic system.
This project qualified for semi-final testing in the prestigious XPRIZE challenge held in Miami, USA. The robotic system is comprised of a robot the student designed and manufactured in Mysore, along with HoloSuit, which is the flagship product of KaayaTech. The student's role in the project is that of an industrial designer and he contributed to the robot design and system integration with other supporting technologies.
